Brixworth 3-0 Weldon United

In the annual relaxed, random posotion fixture to end the season Weldon lost by 3 goals btu had a whale of a time doing it !!!! With second top scorer Jay Arnold in goal, full backs of midfield duo Sean Fraser & Ryan Hill, A centre back pairing of utility man Liam Duffy and manager Steve Brydon, a midfield 3 of left back Lewis Harmon right back Ben Smith and top scoring forward paul Simpson with a forward 3 of centre backs Neil Barrat & Steven Scales along with goalkeeper Tomm March !!! The game started of suprisingly well and Weldon dominated much of the play without really creating a chance. As the half wore on Brixworth made chance after chance however couldn't find a way past the heroic hands of keeper Jay Arnold !!!! Brixworth took the lead after a typically long punt into the box was knocked down and tapped home. With Weldon clearly enjoying themselves playing some amazing stuff Brixworth were increasingly getting more frustrated as they were being dominated by a side not really bothered !! The second half saw Brixworth score 2 further goals to put a gloss on the scoreline, but the second period will be remembered for Weldon moments ! The first was a Paul Simson 'sheringham' volley from a corner which went just over, a Liam Duffy 'scorpion kick' & a series of play which saw Weldon pass the the ball consecutively for 4 passes all with BACKKHEELS !!!!! A disappointing season overall but a hell of a fun ride was had by all for 9 months !!!!!
